Service Support Volunteers
Service Support Volunteers provide much needed logistical support during major area and resource emergencies. Most volunteers leverage their existing skills to provide a backbone communications infrastructure and public assistance. Regardless of your reasons, being a fire department volunteer is one of the most honored and respected positions in the community!
Position Description
Service Support Volunteers leverage their amateur radio license and knowledge of their communities to support the fire department during disasters and resource emergencies.
Note: This position requires a FCC-issued amateur radio license prior to hire.
Commitment
The Department desires community responders who will serve their neighbors in times of need. Volunteers must hold the highest standards to ensure everyone's safety and public confidence. To that end, we are looking for motivated individuals who will constantly improve themselves in order to provide safe and courteous service. An Eastside Service Support Volunteer must complete up to 30 hours of continuing education and drill per year.
